•DIG (Domain Information Groper): Collect information from the Domain Name Server System servers. Can only be used with top level domains. Example: domain.com, domain.net, domain.org
•Whois: The whois command searches for an Internet directory entry for an identifier which is either a name (such as ''Smith'') or a handle (such as ``SRI-NIC'') associated with a doamin name.
•DSN lookup: The nslookup command sends queries to Internet Domain Name Servers (DNS) for requested information of a host or domain. Must be used with fully qualified host and/or domain name.
